Mike MacDonald is a lifelong resident of Macomb County. He lives in Macomb Township with his wife Lauraanne and their beautiful daughter Evelyn. He currently serves as the Senator from Michigan’s 10th district. After the 2022 election, MacDonald will represent the people of the 11th senate district which includes portions of Macomb and Clinton Townships, Eastpointe, Fraser and 9 precincts in the city of Detroit.
MacDonald grew up in Clinton Township, attending De La Salle High School, where he has served on the Alumni Board of Directors. He studied at Macomb Community College before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science.
Mike is not a professional politician, just a concerned professional who has spent most of his life researching and finding solutions to problems. It’s easy to see that Macomb County has not been getting its fair share. During Mike’s time in Lansing, he has worked to get the people of Macomb County what they deserve.
Mike has worked hard for his constituents but he knows his work is not done. That’s why Mike is running in the newsly drawn 11th Senate district.
Prior to his time in office, MacDonald was a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual and Vice President of the Michigan Air Force Association. MacDonald received his doctorate in Health Administration and his masters degree in business administration. He has served as a board member of the Friends of Macomb Township Foundation and as a member of the Clinton Township Kiwanis Club. Additionally, Mike serves as a doctoral mentor to assist those who pursuing their doctoral degree.
